PCjr Reborn! - Mods
The modifications listed on this site are for your own personal use.
I can not and will not take responsibility if you damage hardware,
software, yourself or others, or personal property while attempting these
modifications.
If that hasn't scared you away.....these modifications are fantastic!
The following mods are just a few of the documented modifications
I have tried and successfully gotten to work. I am working
with others on testing, documenting and making available modifications,
even at them time of this writing. So stay tuned and check
here often for any changes. Otherwise, I might suggest a visit to
the forum or chat (better during the evenings) and see if you can give
some of your ideas!

---------------------------------------------------Networking with the PCjr---------------------------------------------
* Currently, there are members from the forum working on personal software to get the PCjr working online. There are an infinite number of TCP stacks and DOS programs to get you playing with the PCjr online, but there is not a whole lot of hardware out there to accomplish this. The neatest thing we use is the XIRCOM PE3-10BT parallel port ethernet adapter. The adapter's software runs flawless on the PCjr and I am very satisfied with it.
Here are some file options you can utilize in order to get your jr on networks and "online"
- intscr.dat
- Data file used to fix addressing issues with the jr, to allow the loading
of
Trumpet TCP/IP - Author Mike Brutman
- pe3pd.com
- Xircom PE3-10BT packet driver
- ntcpdrv.exe - Trumpet TCP/IP driver - Author Peter Tattam
- ircabi.exe - Trumpet based DOS irc. - Author Peter Tattam
-
tel2.exe
- Trumpet based DOS TELNET. - Author
Peter Tattam
* To get the PCjr online, started with a minimum of a 2-drive system (1 x 3.5.5 and 1 x 5.25), and 736kb (with use of jrconfig). Next I ran the above 4 files in the following order:
1) PE3PD.COM - Initialize the PE3 adapter
2) DEBUG < INTSCR.DAT - Allows the Trumpet driver to be loaded
3) NTCPDRV -ip=192.168.x.x -netmask=255.255.255.0 -gateway=192.168.x.x -dns=192.168.x.x
4) IRCABI - irc for DOS
Its really easy once all the kinks are worked out. If you wish to try this and have somebody on to test it with, feel free to give a call out in the forum.
